Thoughts :     Hi Big Al! Obwohl wir zwei die letzten Jahre nicht oft Zeit verbracht haben, hat uns immer unsere Freundschaft zusammengehalten. Du hast mir immer "gedroht", dass Du mich beim Biken plattmachst "Oider" und ich habe grad vor drei Wochen am Gardasee trainiert, weil ich nicht verlieren wollte... Du hast mir eine SMS geschickt ob denn das Wetter am lago besser sei, als damals in München. Ich habe ein so gutes Gefühl, wenn ich an Dich denke! - U'r a real big AL -take care - Stefan Bettina: Hochachtung vor deinem Umgang mit der unendlich traurigen Tatsache - es gibt soviel Hoffnung, wenn man die Texte liest.

Thoughts :     Alan, what a positive person you've been! I've only known you laughing, cheerful, simply making people around you feel comfortable. Old colleagues at Life Fitness and surely everybody who had the pleasure of knowing you will keep fond memories.

Thoughts :     Coming back from a trip I have to learn that Big Al has finally left us. I remember that last time I saw you at the swimming pool you told me about your vanilla-flavoured energy drink. What an unbelievable thought you won’t be there on Wednesday! We will all miss your winning smile and your positive spirit. You were an extraordinary guy, Big Al, not because of your amazing performance in triathlon races but because of your own kind to deal with people. Just go through all these personal thoughts to see how much you impressed us. Thanks for everything. This time you finished too fast, but I am sure you will be waiting as usual behind the finish line with that big smile. See you there.

Thoughts :     It is with a lot of sadness I hear of Alan's passing. I only knew Alan for a short time (2000 -2002) but his laughter and jokes will be forever etched in my memory.Those long european summers of beer gardens and good times seem like only yesterday. Thoughts :     As parents we have many memories of the three young lads growing up together, Danny, Alan and Greg –what fine men they have become! Very sad to hear that Alan is no longer with us. He was such a people person, very comfortable with anybody. It was greatly appreciated that he went ouf of his way to visit Paul in Switzerland less than a couple of months ago. Thank you Al for continuing to be such a wonderful friend and support to Dan.

Thoughts :     Es war ein Privileg, Alan gekannt, seine Ausstrahlung erlebt zu haben. Und jetzt löst er mit seiner Geschichte so viele Gefühle und Gedanken aus, die wir ohne ihn nicht hätten. Dafür sind wir dankbar.

Thoughts :     Auch mich hat die Nachricht von Al’s Tod hier in Uganda erreicht und schockiert. Ich habe Al nur ein paar mal durch unsere gemeinsames Hobby Triathlon getroffen. Seine Lebens- und Sportfreude waren nach den ersten Worten mit Ihm sofort spürbar. Es gibt nicht viele Menschen die so viel positive Energie auf andere übertragen können. Al war einer von Ihnen. Die Erinnerung an Ihn wird das fortsetzen und hoffentlich seinen Angehörigen helfen über das Schicksal hinwegzukommen. Mein tiefstes Beileid.
